The original and typical way to experience climbing in the Verdon Gorge is to abseil down to the start of a route and to climb back up again. With its challenging multi-pitch routes, the area was once only suitable for the best climbers, but today it also offers some easier ascents. Patrick Edlinger made the site world famous in the 1980s.
